MSI KT3 Ultra ARU (1)
Overclocker 19 Feb 2002

After much success being the first manufacturer to release MSI K7T266Pro2-RU, MSI did it again with their KT3 Ultra mainboard. MSI KT3 Ultra ARU is the latest offering from MSI featuring the latest KT333 +8233A combination. For those who are familiar with the K7T266Pro2-RU, KT3 Ultra has new additions which might appeal to you. Firstly, this board now officially supports the DDR333 standard. Secondly this board has ATA-133 support. The mainboard also feature ATA-133 RAID using Promise chipset. Other important features include 6 ch audio which allows you to turn this board into the heart of a dolby digital home theatre system.

The KT3 Ultra ARU is based on the AMI BIOS, the settings in BIOS allows you to change the FSB from 100~220Mhz FSB at 1Mhz steppings, the Vcore can also be adjusted within the BIOS from Auto up to 1.85V. In our tests, we used the AMD Athlon XP1500+ and ran it under the most agressive RAM timings we could. It went through all the rigorous tests at default speed. In fact, we stress the system further by pushing it to 150Mhz and above. The package as usual comes standard with a user's manual, FDD and HDD cables, a supporting CDROM. There are also USB extension brackets available for expansion for USB 2.0 and USB 1.1. There is a also a SPDIF optional bracket for hooking up to speakers and digital out.

Below are the specifications of the board. The subsequent pages will be the gallery followed by benchmark results including SuperPI, Q3, DroneZ etc.
