Sagem MyX-6 Review
Sifis 25th August 2003

Battery

Sagem MyX-6 comes with a Lithium-ion 1000mAh battery. In manufacturers handbook we read that the battery life is up to 240h on standby and 4h talking. Practically in my hands the battery lasted 2 days, day and night open. In average i shot about 5-10 photos a day and talked 15-25minutes/a day. So it seems that in compare with its competitors its battery life is fine!

Sagem MyX-6 construction quality is above average. I liked very much the external plastics of the unit as they are thick, very stiff and the paint quality is very good! Metal parts are used too which give a better luxurious sense!

I didn’t like though the quality of the internal plastics. Although there is no problem with them and they are strong enough, they look a bit cheap. I know that may be not important for many but we have to mention this.

As for the outside plastics there is the possibility of changing them! So you can choose the most suitable cover colour to match your taste!

Sounds

40 tone polyphonic melodies are supported. Also there is support for other audio formats as iMelody, Midi and Wave.

You can also record your own sound using the recording option. The amount of recorded and installed sounds is limited by the amount of the Phone memory(2.3MB).

I cant say that the sound level is too low but it should be a bit louder. This is both for the sounds used for calls and SMS but also for the speaker volume. I mean that while talking at the phone and you are in a loud environment it will be hard to listen what the other said. The use of a hands free solved this problem.
