Q: When will ATi have the RS480 s939 chipset (IGP or otherwise) in retail motherboards? Which manufacturers will use the chipset? Would it be using ATi own south bridge or pairing it up with ULi's ?

A: It would be premature to provide these types of details on an unannounced product. At this time we are still on track for a fall 2004 launch of this chipsets. We can tell you that we will have a new ATI southbridge available when we announce these products and it will ship on boards from leading motherboard designers.

Q: Given that barebone systems are booming, are there any plans to develop and market more powerful and state-of-the-art on-board video solutions?

A: Yes, but I cannot provide further product details at this time.

Q: What is ATi's plan for 64-bit support on Linux and Windows?

A: We already offer 64-bit beta drivers for windows and will have a publicly available certified driver as soon as Microsoft releases a generally available 64-bit operating system. We are also planning 64-bit support for Linux in the near future.

Q : Most importantly, will the chipset implement a FIX PCI/AGP like what your competitor does to make it super overclockable.

We are aiming to greatly improve overclocking in our next-generation chipsets as there is great appetite for this feature on AMD discrete chipsets.
