DOOM3 DEMO001

In this benchmark, we compare the two cards in both 1024x768 and 1280x1024 in various combinations of AA and AF. Do take note that certain combinations might not be available on the NV or ATi cards, we will compare it to the closest AA+AF as possible.

First of all, let's take a look at ASUS EN7600GT/2DHT at default clk speed. It scored 117fps vs 97.3 fps for resolution of 1024x768. In 1280x1024, ASUS EN7600GT/2DHT scored 90.5 fps vs 72.5fps. This NVIDIA optimised game seems to perform better at defaults with AA+AF.

Now lets take a look at AA + AF combinations. In the case of 4xAA+8xAF, both cards are very close to each other. For 1024x768, Powercolor X1800 GTO scored 69.5 while ASUS EN7600GT scored 69.4. As for 1280x1024, Powercolor X1800 GTO scored 47.8 vs 47.7 on the ASUS EN7600GT.

As the NV 7600GT does not support 6xAA, we use 8xS AA+16xAF to compare with Powercolor's 6xAA+16xAF. From the chart, it is not difficult to see that the ASUS EN7600GT is slower in this case. Well this could be due to the fact that we are using a 8xS AA. It seems that when you go for higher resolution and higher AA+AF, the EN7600GT is just a bit slower than the Powercolor X1800 GTO for this benchmark.
