MSI Wind notebook

If you are there at Computex Taipei 2008. The most eye catching gadgets of the year are the Atom based mini notebooks I call it.

This Wind Notebook by Microstar is based on the Intel 945GSE chipset and comes with 1GB of DDR2 and 80GB SATA HDD and DDRII 1GB memory. It has all the features of a conventional notebook but with the new processor the Intel ATOM processor.

This Intel Atom processor clocks at 1.6GHz consumes lesser power than the other variants you see available from other vendors including the VIA C7 or Celeron M 900. Thus it will consume less power and last longer. The CPU  is made of 45nm and runs at 1.013v. It is label Intel Atom CPU N270 and cocks at 1.6GHz (133MHz x 6).

The keyboard is a more usable keyboard compared to the ASUS Eee PC 900. In terms of expansion, it comes with  3 USB ports, 1 LAN port, 1 D-SUB, 1 SD card reader.
