Review of Samsung SGH-U900 5 mega pixel camera phone with 7.2mbps HSDPA

Samsung SGH-U900

If you have read our review of the Samsung SGH-G800, you would have noticed that this camera phone takes good pictures and can surf at high speeds of 7.2mbps using HSPA. The problem is that it seems to be a big too thick and bulky. SGH-U900 comes to the rescue with a slim down form factor of only 12.9mm.

This metallic finished SGH-U900 merges beauty and functionality into one piece of art. At 12.9mm thin, it is one of the first phones to have a 5 mega pixel camera built in. In addition, Samsung incorporates DaCP, a touch screen navigation window. Press on it and feel the haptics feedback from the phone itself. Navigate through the menus from Music, to FM Radio, to Camera, to Image Editor with the changing icons.

The Samsung Soul is packed with everything you need for an almost-professional photography experience and high-speed multimedia experience. From a 5 Megapixel camera with all the fancy trimmings of Face Detection, Wide Dynamic Range Optimiser and Image Stabiliser, to a music library and 3.5G speed of access, the Samsung Soul does it all, simply.

To tap the power of the faster download speed using HSDPA, the phone is built with Google Search and Google Mail. The phone also includes a RDS capable FM Radio for you to tune in to the latest broadcast from your local FM broadcaster.  For frequent flyers, the phone also comes with Offline Mode to enable in-flight usage.

On the next few pages, we will take a look at the interfaces of the phone.
