Serious Sam Encounter 2

Serious Sam Encounter 2 is fast becoming another benchmark that is used by in most reviews. In our tests, we ran the benchmark at defaults. For ATi, we disabled anisotropic filtering and Truform for a head to head comparison.

We ran the test on the 4th Demo of the game. We were a bit surprised by the results. At 800x600x32, there is no doubt that the MSI GF4 Ti4600 is leading the pact. At higher resolutions, the ATi Radeon8500 seems to catch up in the race and somehow it is slightly faster. I was skeptical initially, but after running the same tests a number of times, the results are consistent in our test.

In fact, at higher resolutions, Gigabyte AP64D overtook the GF4 ti4600 and GF3 Ti200 card. A difference of up to 20% (o/c at 310/310 vs gf4 ti4600) can be observed.
