Benchmarking

In Windows Movie Maker ver 2, we imported the sample file that comes with the program into it and encode it using a 1.5Mbps video WMV. Here are the timings recorded using a stop watch. From the timings, we can see that Dual Channel i865PE and i875 is definitely more superior by 12.5% against the unofficial 800mhz supporting 845PE chipset. Timings recorded in seconds (the faster the better). There is little difference between Canterwood (i875P)and the Springdale (i865PE) benchmarks. IC7-G and most Canterwood performs similarly at 40s.

In terms of rendering, lightwave 3.0 is used. We used the benchmark file Radio-reflective things and rendered one frame. Here are the timings recorded in seconds (the faster the better). A score of 47.6 is obtained which is the average among Canterwood boards.
