NEC e606 Review (2)
Jam July 2003

Connectivity

The phone features a port on the left side of the phone, which is used for data cable to connect to PC (Data cable included in box) via USB. (Windows 2000 and XP only)

It also has a Headset port on the right side which uses a normal Headphone jack but smaller much like the ones that are used in other mobile phones, the headset that comes in the box has to ear pieces because the phone can play audio music much like a MP3 player but in WMA format.

As you can see from the picture it has a built in aerial but the aerial is in a weird place to what we have seen done in the past if you look at the button of the phone that little lip is the built in aerial, it does not always give a good signal since your hand is normally there when you are holding the phone.

It does not feature infrared but it does have limited Blue Tooth what I mean by this is that you can use the Blue tooth to sync with computer but you cannot use the Blue Tooth to send files to other phones or use a Blue tooth headset which is a shame.

Screen

Ok now we have got passed the looks of the phone lets see what the screen has to offer. The screen is a 65 thousand colour display (or 65K for short) and is a TFT screen it is so vibrant and bright.

Standby Screen

And this is a picture of one of the pictures that comes with the phone for use as background and start up screen only.

It does come with 5 preinstalled wallpapers and 5 preinstalled start up Movies, which are about 7 seconds long. It also has 8 colour themes like on the Nokia series 40 platform I doubt more can be downloaded.
