ASrock AM2 CPU Board on K8Upgrade-1689 1/3
Bluetooth 27 June 2006

ASrock K8Upgrade-1689

Do you still remember the K8Upgrade-1689 which we reviewed back on 19 Nov 2004 (Read review). That is almost like 1.5 yrs old product. This product is based on the ULi 1689 chipset which supports the Socket 754 with AGP 8x.

At that time, this board can be upgraded to Socket 939 and we have proven it to work in our previous review back in 2004.

ASRock, brings yet another good news for users of this board. That is, you can now upgrade to AM2 without changing the mainboard!

That makes it one of the first boards in the world that can upgrade from Socket 754 -> Socket 939 / Socket AM2 through an upgrade card (for Socket 754-> Socket 939, you use the 939Board which we talked abt. in the review in yr 2004).

On the next page, we take a look at some pictures of the setup.
