Corsair TWIN2X2048-8500C5 at CAS 4-4-4-12,1T

Based on the Micron Rev D ram, these modules are very scalable from low latency to high bandwidth. In order for us to find the best timings, we reduced the CAS latency to 4, and set the RAS# to CAS# to 4, RAS# precharge to 4 and Cycle time to 12. CMD rate is set to 1T for best performance.

Using the ASUS M2N32 SLI Deluxe Wireless Edition mainboard, we did two tests on the module to see how good the ram can scale between low lantecy and high bandwidth.

In this test, memclk is fixed at 800MHz, DDR voltage is at 2.2v. The other voltages remains at default. The system was stable at the default 200MHZ x10 and we slowly shift up the CLK to 230MHz. That will give you 9005MB/s which is definitely higher than running at DDR2-800 CAS 5 default at 200MHz.

In terms of the Memory Latency, we can see from the chart that the memory latency in random access took 81ns and Speed factor is 60.4. That is in fact faster that those reference CPU/chipsets in the chart below.
