Conclusion

From the results, we can see that the Gigabyte 3D Rocket II GH-PCU23-VE is definitely a very low noise yet high performance heatsink/fan that works on all platforms. With its duct design inherited from Rocket I, it also helps to cool down the MOSFETs surrounding the CPU.

With a Dimension 112 x 112 x 160 mm and a fan Dimension 92 x 92 x 25 mm, it is a big in size and weighs 640g. I would have expected a slimmer heatsink and probably shorter. Nevertheless, the 4 heatpipes and aluminium fin material helps to dissipiate the heat from the top and bottom of the heatsink. With its newer design, the fan speed of Fan Speed 1,500 ~ 3,000 RPM gives only noise of Noise 16 ~ 33.5 dBA.

The univeral retention unit and the clips provided also makes it one of the heatsinks that is compatible with all platforms. Thus, you no longer need to change heatsink if you decided to change platform in the months to come.

Finally, I would say the heatsinks' Blue LEDs stands out and the UV rings will also help to make your BOX looks very different.
