Benchmarks - 3DMark06/3DMark Vantage

In this test, we focus on the performance of the integrated graphics Radeon HD 4290. Catalyst driver 8.70-1100113a.0946322 is used in the test on all boards.

The boards are first tested based on default GPU CLK 700MHz and then at 900MHz with Sideport memory raised. The ECS A890GXM-A has 1333MHz as the highest sideport memory available in BIOS. The ASUS and Gigabyte boards BIOS has options of increasing the Sideport memory with selections of up to 2000MHz.

In 3DMark06, ECS lower clock is disadvantaged against the ASUS and Gigabyte boards (2190 vs 2205 vs 2225). Even when the GPU is raised to 900MHz with sideport at 1333MHz, it is still behind the ASUS and Gigabyte. ASUS scored 2508 marks with GPU at 900MHz and Sideport at 1520 MHz. The Gigabyte on the other hand scored 2549 with its GPU at 900MHz and sideport memory at 1580MHz.

In 3DMark Vantage (entry), ECS A890GXM-A does slightly better at 3039 marks. Again, we see that when the ASUS and Gigabyte raises its GPU and Sideport memory to 900/1520, 900/1580, the score shot up to 3563 and 3597 respectively.
